Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
COVID-19 pandemic has cast a spotlight on PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). One such essential part of PPE in healthcare settings is gowns. Gowns protect healthcare professionals and patients by providing a barrier of protection against infectious particles and other dangerous substances. Gowns also protect the patients and medical personnel from the transfer of body fluids and micro-organisms and help prevent cross-contamination. Different gown types such as isolation gowns, surgical gowns, or coveralls are indicated for use for the direct care of patients with COVID-19. These gowns are disposable and made of spun-bound synthetic material.
