Need of Masks after COVID-19 Vaccine?
Vaccines prevent illness, however, experts suggest it still takes time for the vaccine to kick in and people shouldn’t stop wearing face masks yet. A vaccine is just a new tool in this fight against the global pandemic and more research is needed to determine if the vaccine also prevents transmission. As we wait for more people to get vaccinated we should still follow the safety protocols and keep wearing masks, wash hands with soap and water frequently for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, limit gatherings and practice social distancing. Remember, we still need to protect people with weak immune systems, people with critical medical conditions, or people who can’t be vaccinated.
